* Data M.O.T.

The Measure-Organise-Trust (M.O.T.) proprietary methodology was developed in collaboration with Dr. R. Elena Francu, Assistant Professor in Marketing at Nottingham University Business School, University of Nottingham.

Drawing on the latest research in service innovation, data management, and information systems as well as from INFOSMITH’s decades of expertise in data management consulting, the Data M.O.T. idea flourished into a new-to-market innovation to identify data-related weaknesses before they create cost, risk or lost value for businesses.

The Data M.O.T. assesses your people (in terms of skills and culture around data among other variables), processes (how data is flowing through the business), systems, and data infrastructure against the three pillars (Measure-Organise-Trust), producing a clear view of strengths, gaps and priorities as a Data Health Scorecard.

Whether your business is small, medium-sized, or large, you will benefit from using the evidence-based results to make data-driven decisions.

** Data Valuation

In the 70s and 80s, data was seen as a mirror byproduct of information technology (IT) systems, and he was as valued as the exhaust fumes of a car. In the 1990s information gained popularity as a shared corporate resource. Jump to the 2000s data and information were qualified as a corporate asset. Since 2010s we keep hearing about the data being the “new oil” with increasing importance in terms of verifiable governance and quality in the context of AI readiness.

Against this backdrop, companies have yet to treat data as corporate asset, as accounting rules have not kept up with the rapid pace of the digital economy. As such, we may not see data as an asset on a company’s balance sheet very soon.

However, INFOSMITH’s proprietary evidence-based mixed method for Data Valuation provides you with an assessment of your data assets that quantifies how your data contributes to business performance, risk and enterprise value, creating a basis for decision-making, investment, and transactions.
